Zyn Player vs IBO Player: price, setup and features

Zyn Player and IBO Player are both IPTV players: apps that play a playlist you get from your own provider, with no channels included. The short answer is that IBO Player is far cheaper (a €5 one-year or €10 lifetime licence on October 31, 2026) and runs on more devices, including computers and Apple devices, while Zyn Player is Android-only and costs more but publishes catch-up, an Xtream Codes login option with its TV guide, PIN-locked playlists and setup help on WhatsApp. Both start with a 7-day trial and a MAC address and device key. The right pick depends on your devices, playlist and budget.

How we compared Zyn Player and IBO Player

For our own app, we used only what this site publishes, checked against the app itself on November 1, 2026. For IBO Player, we read the official website (iboplayer.com), its downloads page, its FAQ and support pages, the developer's licence store, the separate IBO Player Pro site and the App Store listing. Everything about IBO Player in this article was checked on October 31, 2026.

Limits worth knowing:

• We didn't run side-by-side lab tests, so this article doesn't judge speed, stability or picture quality.
• "Not stated officially" means we didn't find the point in IBO Player's published pages that day. It doesn't mean the feature is missing.
• Prices, store listings and trial lengths change. Check the official pages before you pay for anything.

Zyn Player vs IBO Player at a glance

Setup and activation: two MAC address flows

How IBO Player activation works

The official pages describe a self-service flow:

1. Install the app. The 7-day trial starts, and the app shows a MAC address and a Device Key.
2. On iboplayer.com, open "Manage Playlist", enter both values and add your playlist link.
3. Restart the app so it loads the playlist.
4. When the trial ends, buy a licence on the licence store using the same MAC address and Device Key.

The FAQ adds a detail that catches people out: a TV has two MAC addresses, one for Wi-Fi and one for Ethernet, and switching between them activates the other one. There is also a "Switch MAC ID" option. Note which connection you used and keep both values safe: you need them again to buy the licence.

How getting Zyn Player works

Zyn Player isn't in any app store yet. You message the team on WhatsApp through the contact page, and they reply with how to install it on your device. The flow after that looks a lot like IBO Player's:

1. Open the app. The 7-day trial starts, and the app shows a MAC address, a device key and a QR code.
2. Add your playlist (an Xtream Codes login or an M3U link) in the app, or sign in on this site with the MAC address and device key and add it there. Scanning the QR code on the TV fills in the MAC address for you.
3. Open "Change Playlist" in the app, or restart it, to load the playlist.
4. To buy a licence, send the MAC address on WhatsApp; after payment the team activates your device, and the app shows the new expiry date.

The setup guide and its playlist section cover each step.

The difference is in getting the app and buying the licence: IBO Player's is self-service on a website, while with Zyn Player a person sends you the app and activates your device, so you need WhatsApp and wait for a reply.

IBO Player price vs Zyn Player price

Here the honest answer is plain: IBO Player is much cheaper. These are the prices listed on October 31, 2026, with the per-year figures worked out:

IBO Player's one-year licence costs about a tenth of Premium, our cheapest one-year plan, and its lifetime licence costs about a third of our shortest plan. Per month, that's roughly €0.42 against €4.08 for Premium or €3.71 for Ultimate. If price is what decides it for you, IBO Player wins clearly.

Two points complicate the numbers:

• Devices. Our licences state how many devices they activate (two on Supreme), each by its MAC address. IBO Player's licence store didn't say on October 31, 2026 whether one licence covers more than one device; activation is tied to each device's MAC address. If you have two TVs, check that on the store before you buy.
• Refunds. IBO Player's homepage and store say there are no refunds after purchase, and its FAQ says there's no refund if you buy without a playlist. Our refunds are conditional: the refund policy reviews cases such as a device that never gets activated, but not a change of mind. With either app, test your real playlist during the trial before paying.

IBO Player Pro price

IBO Player Pro is a separate app from the same developer, with its own site (iboplayerpro.com) and the same licence store. On October 31, 2026 it was listed at the same prices: €5 for one year and €10 lifetime. We didn't verify whether its features differ from IBO Player's, so read its own site, and make sure the licence you buy matches the app you installed.

Features: TV guide, catch-up, recording and parental lock

Our published features are Live TV, Movies and Series sections, a TV guide (EPG) with Xtream Codes logins, catch-up/replay, favourites, continue watching, search, a parental lock (PIN, locked categories), more than one playlist, PIN-locked playlists, subtitle style settings and support for external players such as VLC and MX Player. Zyn Player doesn't record. In any IPTV player, catch-up only works where your provider keeps an archive.

IBO Player's homepage states parental controls (by ratings and categories) and multilingual audio for movies and series. Its App Store listing adds 4K, three themes, a VLC player, movie posters and trailers, and language and subtitle selection. On the TV guide, the FAQ says the app has no EPG system of its own but works if your provider is "EPG-ready", meaning the guide data has to come with your playlist. Catch-up, recording and multi-view weren't stated officially on October 31, 2026.

Zyn Player lets you pick audio and subtitle tracks and style the subtitles, but our list doesn't mention 4K, themes or trailers. If one of those matters, ask the team on WhatsApp before you buy.

Devices and where to get each app

IBO Player. The official downloads page offered an Android APK, Windows 10 or later (x64), macOS (Intel) and Linux (.snap). There is also an App Store listing named IBO PLAYER for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV, free with in-app purchases. The IBO Player Pro site shows logos for Samsung, LG webOS, Sony, Android TV, Windows, Roku and Apple TV, but no store links, so we couldn't verify those TV store listings. We found no Google Play listing from the developer, and the support pages describe another way to install it on Android devices.

Zyn Player. It's an Android app: Android phones and tablets, Android TV and Google TV, and Fire TV Stick. It isn't in any app store yet, so the team tells you how to install it on yours.

The differences: IBO Player offers downloads for Windows, macOS and Linux and an App Store listing, none of which Zyn Player has. Fire TV Stick wasn't on IBO Player's official downloads page.

Support: forms and tutorials vs WhatsApp

IBO Player offers a contact form, a Telegram link and YouTube tutorials, which suits people who like to learn from a video. Our support is on WhatsApp, in English, and the team helps with setup. Either way, a channel that won't play or an expired account is a question for your provider, not the player.

Which one should you choose?

IBO Player fits better if you:

• want the lowest cost by far: €5 a year or €10 lifetime;
• watch on a computer, an iPhone, an iPad or an Apple TV;
• prefer an App Store listing on your Apple device;
• are comfortable with the MAC address and Device Key flow on a website;
• have an M3U link and a provider whose playlist carries its own guide data.

Zyn Player fits better if you:

• want an Xtream Codes login option, with its TV guide;
• want catch-up on the published feature list;
• watch on a Fire TV Stick or an Android phone, tablet or TV;
• want to lock a playlist with a PIN so its details stay hidden;
• need two devices on one licence (Supreme);
• want a person to help with setup on WhatsApp, in English;
• prefer a fixed-term licence with conditional refunds over a no-refund purchase.

Beware of lookalike apps and sites

This applies to every IPTV player, ours included.

• IBO Player. On October 31, 2026, Google Play and the App Store carried many similarly named apps from other developers ("Ibo Player Smarter", "IBO Player Pro VPRO", "Ib Player", "Ib Player Pro" and more), none of them linked from the official site. We found no official warning about fake sites. Start from iboplayer.com and follow its own links.
• Zyn Player. We aren't in any app store yet. Get the app by messaging the team through the contact page; if you see a listing or site using the name, ask on WhatsApp before you install or pay.
• Everywhere. Pay only through the channel the official site points to, and never type a MAC address, Device Key or playlist login into a site you reached from an ad or a forum. A player includes no channels: an "app" sold with channels is a provider. See our disclaimer.

FAQ

How much does IBO Player cost?

On October 31, 2026, the official licence store listed IBO Player at €5 for one year or €10 lifetime, with a 7-day trial first. IBO Player Pro had the same prices. The store says there are no refunds after purchase.

Is IBO Player Pro different from IBO Player?

It's a separate app from the same developer, with its own site and the same licence store and prices. We didn't verify whether its features differ, so check iboplayerpro.com before choosing.

Where can I download IBO Player?

From the downloads page on the official site, iboplayer.com, which listed Android, Windows, macOS and Linux versions on October 31, 2026. Similarly named apps from other developers exist, so start there.

Is Zyn Player an IBO Player alternative?

On Android, yes. Both are IPTV players for your own playlist, with a 7-day trial and a MAC address and device key. Zyn Player costs more, but publishes an Xtream Codes login option, catch-up, PIN-locked playlists and WhatsApp setup help. It doesn't run on computers or Apple devices.

Do Zyn Player and IBO Player include channels?

No. Neither app includes channels or sells playlists. Both play the playlist you get from your own provider. Our introduction to IPTV explains how providers and players fit together.

Can I use the same playlist in both apps?

Usually, yes: the playlist belongs to your provider, not the player. Check your provider's connection limit before running both at once. See our guides to M3U playlists and Xtream Codes logins.

Zyn Player or IBO Player: the bottom line

If price is what matters most, or you watch on a computer or an Apple device, IBO Player is hard to beat at €5 a year or €10 lifetime. If you watch on Android and want an Xtream Codes login option, catch-up, PIN-locked playlists, a two-device plan and setup help on WhatsApp, Zyn Player is worth the higher price. Try either with your real playlist before you pay. Compare our plans, read the setup guide, or message us through the contact page to get the app.
